Collection: Teo Chárriez

Meet Téo Chárriez. Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico (1999), Chárriez is an emerging mixed-media artist who works primarily with paint and sculptures. His early artistic formation began by studying music at the School of Fine Arts Pablo Casals, followed by an associate degree in psychology, sparking an interest in the instability of the human body and mind. The pandemic became a pivotal moment in his trajectory, pushing him to deepen his painting practice and leading him to formal training. This leads us to the present, where he is currently pursuing a BFA at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico.

His work explores identity as a shifting and unstable condition, shaped by internal experiences—such as gender dysphoria, substance abuse, and mental illness—as well as external forces, including political and cultural realities.

His work has been featured in local events, including pop-ups at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, as well as various venues and local bars. Chárriez is an active member of several artistic collectives, including the gallery La Lineal Art Shop, where he continues to collaborate and exhibit with the local art community.
