Born on November 9, 1996, in Puerto Rico, Sabdiel López Ortiz is a visual artist whose work is deeply shaped by movement, cultural diversity, and lived experience.
Having lived in Puerto Rico, New York, and Brazil, and traveled extensively throughout the
United States and Latin America—his artistic vision reflects a global and introspective perspective.
Sabdiel studied Theology for three years, a background that strongly influenced his critical thinking, spirituality, and conceptual approach to art. He later continued his artistic formation at the Liceo de Artes y Tecnología in Hato Rey and studied Photography and Film at CCAT. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico.
His artistic journey includes participation in several group exhibitions, including
CONECTARTE, created by LuiyiArte in collaboration with INKSANE PR. His first exhibition,
"Añoranza," marked a significant milestone in his career, where he served not only as the
exhibiting artist but also as the creator and director of the project, collaborating with seven artists and demonstrating strong leadership and curatorial vision.
Sabdiel is also a muralist. His first large-scale mural was completed in Morovis, Puerto Rico, in 2018, measuring approximately 120 feet long. Since then, he has been commissioned by various businesses, including The Cave in Old San Juan, where he transformed the entire second floor into an immersive artistic experience.
Currently, Sabdiel continues to expand his artistic practice, exploring themes of memory, identity, collective experience, and contemporary expression.
